We're off! Maybe Not!

At this point, there was nothing left for me to do on my boat so I was lending a hand to Mike and Michelle as they were quite keen to get on having been working on their boat for some time (October last year). Outstanding on their boat was fridge and alternator.  As they had been unable to get someone to fix the fridges, they decided that we would set off on the Friday 1 May. The plan was that we would leave Port Napoleon, on the Friday, motor to Port Saint Louis,  provision and start our journey on the Sunday.  Late on Thursday, Mike got word, that his electrician friend had freed up some time and would be in Port Napoleon on the Wed. That rightly lead us to change our plans as we had discovered that it was quite difficult to get an electrician. So we left on Friday 1 May to Port Saint Louis do Rhone.

Flying Fyn on way to Port Saint Louis du Rhone

After an hour of motoring as Mike and Michelle had not taken their boat out since being put in the water, we docked at Port Saint Louis and I rafted alongside them, a new exercise for me. With their help I successfully rafted and we would be waiting the arrival of the electrician.

Port Saint Louis at night

It was overcast over Monday and Tuesday and the level of the water in the Rhone (and the marina) had risen, Brian and Stephanie, informed us that they had been unable to move for the last 3 days due to the rains.

On the Wed the 6th, Ian and Shelly finally put TAG in the water and decided to join us at Port Saint Louis.. They motored into the harbour, with the boxing Wallaby and a Bundy's flag flying - fightin talk....

Trouble stepping ashore..
So now we wait with the great company of Ian ans Shelly.
